Engel & Volkers Deposit practices
I would like to warn potential renters about Engel & Volkers outrageous attempt at theft from a deposit on a villa rental in Ibiza. After a week where a group of six of us stayed in the villa for a week and left it in a near spotless condition and no damage whatsoever was caused, I received the following demand for payment from them.
Extra house cleaning: € 144,- (12 hours x € 12)
Extra pool cleaning: € 25,52 (€ 22,- + 16% IVA)
Lime cleaning inside and outside floor: € 185,60 (5 hours x € 18,- = € 90,- + € 40,- material + € 30,- transfer + € 25,60 IVA)

Martha's Vineyard Vacation Rental
We rented this house immediately after the owner used it. Vineyard rental procedure is to vacate by 10 am, leave a house broom clean, and to clear out all personal items, including food. We found the kitchen dirty and the refrigerator full of food. We called the rental agency to find out if we had perhaps arrived before the cleaning people were able to get in. Shortly thereafter, the owner called to say that they had still been there when the cleaning people arrived, and that in their haste to make the ferry, had left some things undone. Hummingbird House, Lakeside, MI, Cottage rental disaster
My husband and I rented this cottage in July. It is a disaster waiting to happen. The cottage property and services are misrepresented on the web site, and the conditions were unsafe. The cottage was filthy and not clean on our arrival. The outside of the property was unkept and bug infested. It had leaves and vines covering the screen door and in the gutters. The windowboxes were filled with artificial flowers, not real. However, this was only the beginning! Dorado Puerto Rico Vacation Rental
Although as you can see the 3 reviews on this site are all good I had a very different experience with this rental owner and Townhome. The place was disgusting as far as being able to use the utensils, coffee maker, pots and pans. Mold in the refrigerator. Bugs in the townhouse that were biting us. Amenities we were told would be available were not. Linens were stained and soiled, particularly the pillows. yuk. I specifically asked if there wasa BBQ grill and yes there was but it wasso old and rusted I did not dare touch it for fear of getting ill. Barking dog in the yard next door that...

This company advertises luxury vacation homes in the Orlando Florida area.
The first house @ 1222 cedarwood was extremely dirty, we found dog hair in the bed linens, the entire house was filthy, we had to clean the bath tubs before using them- The owner came over gave me a change of bedsheets and did nothing else about the filth. We went out to dinner, came back at 11:30pm and the house temp was 87 degrees! we slept with fans on.
